Coach Mike Walker, B. S., M. A. Mike wore three hats while
developing the physical education and athletic department of a
4-year Christian college in Florida. Besides being A.D. and head
of the P. E. Department, he coached soccer, basketball, and spring
sports. His high school coaching journey took him and his lovely
wife, Linda, and their three children to Florida, California,
and then back to Indiana, their home. Mike was a first team All-State
player on the Crawfordsville, IN basketball team that played in
the Final Four 1958 Championship Game.
A personal comment from Coach Walker:
"The reason I have a real passion for helping high
school players get into college is because, as one of six
kids growing up in Crawfordsville, my mom and dad were great
parents, but as far as education went, they both dropped out
of school in the 8th grade to go to work. My coaches were
the only people who encouraged me to dream that I could actually
go to college. We also would like to present the gospel to
as many un-churched kids as possible because, personally, I
did not attend church until I met my wife, Linda, in college.
I am sure there are thousands of kids out there who are in
the same boat that I was in. All they really need is a chance,
whether that chance is going to college or hearing the gospel.
We want to give them that chance." - Coach Mike Walker
